The Black Stallion F9-34P FR pants is flame-resistant cotton, made FR by the application of flame-retardant chemicals. When exposed to flame or light sparks, FR cotton relies on a chemical reaction to extinguish the flame. Our standard FR cotton is tested to ASTM F1506 standards to maintain flame-resistant protection through 50 home washings.. **NOTE: FR (flame-resistant) garments are light weight breathable protection that is mainly used for light welding, cutting, and grinding. 'Flame-resistant' means when a spark(s) lands on the garment, the garment will extinguish itself (it wont continue to burn) and somethimes the spark can create a hole on the garment. Consider leather for full protection for applications that are more than light-duty welding, cutting, and grinding.
