How To Grow Lotus 1.)Seed separation treatment to aid in faster germination. Use a sharp knife to separate one end (concave end) of the lotus seed. 2) Place the seeds that have just been split into the water at a temperature of 20 to 30 degrees C (preferably 21 degrees C). Soaking water must be changed every day (twice a day, morning and evening) until the seeds germinate. Note: only seeds that sink to the bottom are capable of sprouting, those that float to the top should be discarded. 3)After 3-5 days, from the strongest seeds will appear young green sprouts, continue to change the water daily, at this stage need to be gentler than before to avoid affecting the sprouts . 4)Wait until tender, about 15cm long (after about 2 weeks of soaking), then prepare to plant in a place where the soil has been prepared before. Note on soil/mud treatment before planting: Lotus must be planted with clean, unpolluted soil/mud. To clean the soil/mud for lotus cultivation, we should sprinkle 1 teaspoon of powder lime into the soil/mud to disinfect and de-acidify, wait for about a week to put the lotus in.
