Penny Serenade Slim Case

Cary Grant and Irene Dunn play lovers whose destiny is tinged with tragedy and heartbreak. Newly married and honeymooning in Japan, the couple are caught in an earthquake which results in Dunn having a miscarriage. Heartbroken, the couple return to the States where they adopt a young girl. Happiness is interrupted yet again when the girl dies of a sudden illness. Succumbing to the pressures, their marriage eventually crumbles. All seems lost, when fate intervenes yet again. Far from maudlin, Penny Serenade is actually a heartfelt drama, filled with great sensitivity and plenty of humor.
