To beautify a natural landscape setting in the Southwestern part of the United States, use this Southwest wild flower mix that is specifically formulated for elevations below 7000 feet in Arizona, southern California, southern Nevada, and New Mexico. This mix of annuals and perennials will perform well with long, hot, dry summers. The species in this mix include: Cornflower, Lance-leaved Coreopsis, Plains Coreopsis, Purple Coneflower, Indian Blanket, Annual Baby’s Breath, Annual Candytuft, Spurred Snapdragon, Scarlet Flax, Blue Flax, Sweet Alyssum, Texas Bluebonnet, Lemon Mint, Dwarf Evening Primrose, Showy Evening Primrose, Corn Poppy, Annual Phlox, Prairie Coneflower, Clasping Coneflower, Black-eyed Susan, Scarlet Sage, Blue Sage, and Catchfly. Prepare a site by removing weeds and loosening soil. Seed can be broadcast and raked into the soil, covering 2 – 3 times their thickness, or seed can be drilled to a maximum of ¼ inch. This Southwest mix should be planted in the spring once soil temperature warm to 55F. Seed should stay moist by either rainfall or irrigation until germination occurs.
