Amaranthus Green Thumb is a mid height amaranthus growing 18 - 24 inches tall. This Amaranthus is suitable for flower beds and does well in borders. The apple-green goes well with most other colors and is therefore a useful plant for filling in gaps in borders. Is also suitable for cutting and is fantastic in arrangements. A hardy annual, makes an excellent bedding plant. Prefers asunny dry spot with well drained soil. Sow after frost season is over and night time temperatures are staying in the upper 40's unless starting Amaranthus seed indoors. It's shape is described as upright. It has oval foliage that is dark green. It produces flowers during summer/autumn that are spikes in shape and green in color. It requires a moist, rich and well drained soil, preferring full sun, and a position in a border, in a conservatory or in a container.
