The Basilippo family olive grove outside of Sevilla produces exceptional olives that are pressed on-site just hours after harvest. The resulting organic cold-pressed olive oil has a full, balanced flavor perfect for salads, pastas or for dipping with fresh bread. Basilippo organic extra virgin olive oil is a blend of fruity Arbequina and smooth Manzanilla oils. These two olives have a pleasant herbal flavor, with hints of tomato and artichoke. It is a delicious medium intensity oil with a lot of versatility in the kitchen. When we visited, we watched as each bottle was filled and numbered by hand. Olive trees have grown on this land since the Bronze Age, when it was known as a holy tree. Today the company, founded by the Morillo family, honors this ancient tradition, but also uses the most modern olive pressing equipment to preserve this delicious oil at peak condition.
