Our masala chai comes from a family recipe that features exotic spices- Staranise, Cardamom, Cloves, Cinnamon, Pepper, and Ginger. We them to our tea whole - only crushing some slightly to improve brewing.
For the tea in this blend, we use organic Assam CTC grown on our family estate, Chota Tingrai (27.458869 N, 95.354856 E). India's authentic chai makers-from the humblest of Kolkata's street vendors to the ritziest of Mumbai's hotels-mix this style of tea with their masalas because its strong bold taste will not succumb to the power of the spices.
At Chota Tingrai, we nurture every plant with 100% organic compost made on our estate. We pluck and process every batch of leaf to meet the highest health and safety standards.
