PLATE BLOCK OF 4 STAMPS as pictured. ~ On February 12, 1993 in Salem OR., the USPS celebrated the 150th anniversary of the first large-scale immigration to the Oregon Territory. The Oregon Trail was one of the main overland migration routes leading from the Missouri River to the Oregon Territory, winding 2,000 miles across prairies, deserts, and mountains. Between 1841 and 1869 settler, ranchers, farmers, miners and business men would start out in April/May and journey for four to six months, migrating to the Pacific Northwest.
