Strong Sweetened Carob Chips "OliveNation" are delicious in cookies, muffins, scones, trail mixes, and other treats. Carob comes from the Mediterranean carob tree and is a legume. Natural carob is slightly sweet. When it gained popularity in the U.S., carob was touted as a chocolate substitute. Carob has a similar color to cocoa, but they have different flavors. Carob is delicious in its own right -- earthy with a caramel-like flavor. Although, some of our tasters said that our Sweetened Carob Chips taste a bit like chocolate. So you can be the judge!
