Similar to traditional spinach, tolerates heat well but not frost; New Zealand spinach seeds should be planted after the last frost of spring. Soak the seeds overnight, then plant them 1/4" deep and 10" apart or in mounds of three. Must control weed growth nearby until plant is developed. Keep watered if dry, also this plant likes to climb trellis or pole, and if nothing to climb it will spread out as ground cover. Can begin harvesting once big enough leaves for eating. The leaves last a while in refrigerator. Harvest the outer leaves or cut entire plant and new leaves will begin to grow, your personal choice.
