Extracted from the seed of the fruit, it makes an anti-ageing oil that’s more potent — and far cheaper — than the more well-known face oils, such as rose otto. Another key benefit is its ability to sink into skin without leaving a greasy finish. Hip is a dry oil, so it penetrates to the deepest layers of the skin where it regenerates skin cells, producing more collagen and elastin. The soft touch of this effective hand cream is enhanced by adding in glyceryl stearate, which is made by reacting glycerin with stearic acid, a fatty acid obtained from animal and vegetable fats and oils. This combined with almond oil creates a film over the skin that will feel soft to the touch. It forms a protective thin barrier over skin, which is not sticky, but does prevent moisture loss.
