F4F Wildcat and the F6f Hellcats Stories. The F4F was a short stubby Navy fighter that barely saved the day at the beginning of the war with Japan. The Japanese Zero could fly circles around the American planes at the time The best tactic was to NEVER get into a dogfight with a Zero. The Americans found a A6M Zero intact in the Aleutians in 1942 and built the famous F6F to counter what they found out about the Zero. In the end, the F6F shot down over 5100 Japanese planes with a loss on only 270. That is an amazing kill ratio. 1st Film "F6F Pilot Instructions" 20:10 Min's. 2nd Film "The Fleet that Came to Stay" This is a film by the USN about the War in the Pacific. 20:33 Min's 3rd Film "Don't Kill Your Friends".
