Naruto Shippuden The Movie: The Lost Tower

The Rogue Ninja Mukade is about to be caught by Naruto's team when he summons forth the power of the Ley Line—an ancient underground channel of chakra. Naruto gets caught up in the chakra and is sent back in time to the city of Loran, known for its thousand towers. There he encounters the future Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, on a top-secret mission and the Queen of Loran, Sara, whose rule is threatened by Mukade. Will Naruto be able to return to his own time, and can a chance encounter in the past save the future? Plus, in an exclusive animated short, Naruto and his friends come across a magical genie in a bottle. The time has come for the last wish, but Naruto just may squander it!

Amazon.com The Naruto Shippuden features have all been more entertaining than the earlier Naruto films, and The Lost Tower (2010) is no exception. Beneath the ruined city of Loran flows the Ley Line, a powerful stream of chakra energy. The renegade ninja Mukade hopes to tap it to fuel an army of puppets that will enable him to conquer the Five Great Ninja Nations. Naruto, Sakura, Sai, and Yamato are on a mission to stop him. But when Mukade unseals the Line, the resulting chakra explosion hurls Naruto back to the time when Loran was the famed City of a Thousand Towers. He quickly befriends Sara, the Queen of Loran, and four mysterious Shinobi from the Hidden Leaf Village: Minato, Choza, Shibi--and a young version of Kakashi-sensei. As Sara's minister Anrokuzan, Mukade has enslaved the citizens of Loran to build his puppet-troops. Naruto and his allies attack Mukade's army in a spectacular and protracted battle. But Mukade can draw on the power of the Ley Line to heal any damage the Hidden Leaf ninja inflict; to stop him, they must re-seal the Line, which they can only do with Sara's help. Once the Ley Line is sealed, time begins to right itself, just as Naruto realizes Minato will become the father he never knew. Director Masahiko Murata keeps the film moving at a rapid clip and provides plenty of visual excitement, although Mukade's puppet-army recalls the clay figures the demon Moryo summoned in the first Naruto Shippuden film. The only thing missing is the humor Naruto's friends supply, and the filmmakers make up for it in the slapstick short "Naruto and the Three Wishes." (Rated TV 14, but sui
