Product Description They possess the powers of a lost era, serving as the peacekeepers and protectors of the numerous kingdoms on the planet Earl; they are the Otome. And for Arika Yumemiya, the dream of becoming a Meister Otome has brought her through the desert to the Windbloom Kingdom where she hopes to train at the prestigious Garderobe Academy. However gaining admittance to the Academy won't be as easy as she thinks it is. Not only will she find herself rescuing the soon to be Queen of the Kingdom, fending off a giant mechanized warrior, and discovering her latent powers as an Otome, she'll also have to win a battle against an established Otome in order to be admitted. And even if she makes it in, how is she going to pay those school fees? Action packed re-imagining of the mega hit My-HiME! Genre: Action/Fantasy/Sci-Fi. Special Edition contains: My-OTOME Volume 1, Premium Artbox, and Cell-Phone Strap. Amazon.com Arika Yumemiya, the 14-year-old heroine of the shojo (girls') series My-Zhime (2005) wants to become an Otome, a supernatural combination of lady-in-waiting and royal guardian. She arrives at the prestigious Gardenrobe Academy (a cross between Hogwarts and Mahora Academy in Negima!) completely unprepared, and immediately alienates both Nina Wang, the top student in the school, and Princess Mashiro of the Windbloom Kingdom. Although she's had zero training, Arika demonstrates enough raw talent to win a spot at Gardenrobe. She's injected with nanomachines that enable her to summon the costume and abilities an Otome-in-training needs. Like many shojo heroines, Arika is a well-meaning klutz, who comes from behind through sheer determination. She also possesses mysterious powers linked to her sapphire pendant: could Arika be the long-lost princess? Although it involves some of the same characters, My-Zhime is not a sequel to Mai-Otome, but an alternate adventure. The Deluxe Edition comes in a cardboard chest with an small cel of the cast inset into the front. (Rated 13 and older: violence, nudity, minor risqué humor) --Charles Solomon
