My Own Prison

My Own Prison is Creed’s debut album, released August 1997. Considered to be one of the pioneering albums of the post-grunge wave, it was recorded for $6,000 and originally released through the band’s own label, and had a breakthrough on radio stations in Florida, helping it sell 6,000 copies in the first two months in that state alone. What followed was a historic rise for the band, leading to My Own Prison spending over 110 weeks on the Billboard 200 and selling six million copies in the United States alone, being certified 6x Platinum. The album spawned singles like “My Own Prison”, “Torn”, and “One”, all of which charted for weeks in the United States and in countries like Canada, New Zealand, and Switzerland.
