General Herb Information - Mugwort - Three Mugwort are useful in health and industry: Common Mugwort ( Artemisia vulgaris ), White Mugwort ( A. lactifiora ) and Western Mugwort ( A. ludoviciana ); all are ornamental garden plants. - Propagation: By seed; by root division in spring; by cuttings. - Nature of Plant: Common Mugwort - Sturdy, much-branching stalks with a tinge of purple; grows to a height of 4 feet; leaves are divided into several segments, the underside being slightly downy; yellow flowers are in spiked panicles; suitable for back of garden border. - White Mugwort, Hawthorn-scented Mugwort, resembles the Common Mugwort, slightly taller, but has white panicles of very fragrant flowers; good for backgrounds, high hedges and it has been suggested that they be grown in tubs as they are so decorative; flower stems are useful in flower arrangements both for fragrance and grace. - Western Mugwort sometimes called White Sa - Traditionally used to help support symptoms of stiffness, constipation, melancholy, stress and more. - Hot tea brewing method: Bring freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Place 1 tea bag for each cup into the teapot. Pour the boiling water into the pot, cover and let steep for 2-4 minutes. Pour into your cup; add milk and sugar to taste. - Iced tea brewing method: (to make 1 liter/quart): Place 5 tea bags into a teapot or heat resistant pitcher. Pour 1 1/4 cups of freshly boiled water over the tea itself. Steep for 5 minutes. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Pour the tea into the serving pitcher straining the tea bags. Add ice and top-up with cold water.
