This motorized ball valve is ½” in diameter and made of solid brass. It is strong enough for industrial applications, but inexpensive enough for individuals to buy. The body and stem are made of high-quality brass. The valve can be actuated by 9V-24V of direct current power and will open or close fully in 3-5 seconds. Once fully closed or fully opened, the valve automatically de-energizes, meaning it will never overheat. While many people use solenoid valves for home projects, many of them are constantly energized, which, in combination with the solenoid being enclosed, can lead to overheating. This is one of the attributes that makes motorized ball valve such a good alternative. This particular valve is full port, so the bore in the ball is a full ½” as well. If being used in an application with high sensitivity to drops in pressure, full port valves are a necessity. This valve is rated for 2 Nm of torque on the stem. While often overlooked, the stem is a source of failure in many valves, and this durability is a key feature of U.S. Solid motorized ball valves. Additionally, an ingress protection rating of IP65 means this valve will not be the fail point in your project.
