From the Manufacturer The F-111 was developed in the mid 1960’s and first flown in 1967. The aircraft included many technological innovations including variable wing geometry, terrain following radar and after-burning engines. Several versions of the F-111 were developed and operated by the United States Air Force. The United States Air Force retired the F111 in the late 1990’s.
