- HOW IT'S MADE All of my signs start with bare lumber that I hand select from the hardware store! The wood is then sanded and stained before the design is added. Lastly, a matte protective seal finishes the sign to keep true to the farmhouse look & hardware is applied to the back for easy hanging.
