Our senior bird avian diet is a nutritionally complete foraging food for older parakeets and cockatiels. They are formulated to meet the special needs of senior birds, and the round shape provides your parakeet or cockatiel with important beak play and exercise. Give a fresh bowl of Senior Bird Nutri-Berries each day as a complete food or as a nutritious snack. We carefully select ingredients to help support symptoms of elderly age. They feature real pieces of plums, dates, and cranberries. Plums provide dietary fiber and are high in Vitamins A, C, K, potassium, fluoride, and beta-carotene. Cranberries are full of antioxidants that strengthen the immune system by flushing out harmful toxins. Dates are iron-rich fruits that contain antioxidants that possess anti-infective, anti-inflammatory and anti-hemorrhagic properties. Important age-defying herbs include milk thistle which is added for its anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic effect, dandelion which helps support bone health and improve liver function, and ginger which helps ease tendonitis, lower cholesterol and blood pressure and prevent blood clots. We also blend in glucosamine and chondroitin to combat osteoarthritis and to ease joint pain and swelling. Overall, they offer all of the vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants to live a long and healthy life. We hull the seeds and then coat them with stabilized vitamins and chelated minerals so that your bird receives the balanced nutrition they need, just like with pelleted diets. Based in the US, we're a second-generation-family-and-veterinarian-owned company in the farmlands of Illinois. All of our foods use human-grade and non-GMO ingredients. Is my bird a Senior Bird? Like people, age-related conditions like arthritis can happen at different ages for different birds. In general, a bird may be considered a senior once he or she reaches half of their expected life span.
