Tracing the story of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s rise from his early years as a Baptist minister in Memphis to his assassination in 1968, is riveting storytelling of the highest order, combining first-rate performances with spiritual, political and social themes that remain as relevant today as they were in the era portrayed in the film.
