Issues 55 and 58 of Quotefalls from the Penny Press Selected Puzzle Series

To solve Quotefalls, fit the letters in each vertical column into the squares directly below them to form words reading across only. The letters do not necessarily go in the same order in which they are given. Each given letter will be used once. A black square indicates the end of a word. Words starting at the end of a line may continue in the next line. When all the letters have been placed in their correct squares, you will be able to read the completed quotation across the diagram from left to right, line by line.
