The last and most perfect of the N.N. Polikarpov Design Bureau family of biplane fighters was the I-153. It featured a gull-shaped upper wing, a retractable chassis and four ShKAS machine guns. Serial production planes had M-62 radial engines and the late series had the more powerful M-63. Its maiden flight was in August 1938.
In total 3437 were produced between 1939 and 1941. In the summer of 1941 the I-153 Chaika (gull) was the basis of the Soviet Fighter Aviation along with I-16 fighters. I-153s were used in combat until mid-1943, some of them on a winter ski chassis.
This ICM figure models set requires paint and glue to complete. This is just one of many great kits from the ICM plastic models range!
