Iceland Moss in a lichen. It grows abundantly in the mountainous regions and it is especially characteristic of the lava slopes and plains of the west and north of Iceland. Iceland moss is also known as Iceland lichen, cetraria, muscus, and eryrngo-leaved (spiny-leaf) liverwort. Iceland moss tea is made by pouring 1 cup (200 ml) of boiling water over 1–2 tsp of Iceland moss. The mixture should be covered and steeped for 10–15 minutes. You can add some sweetener to this tea.
