Hydrofera Blue dressings are bacteriostatic dressings that are proven effective at managing bioburden in wounds. These dressings inhibit the growth of microorganims that are commonly found in wounds, for instance, MRSA ( Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus ) and VRE ( Vancomycin-resistant enterococcus ). These dressings are constructed through a unique, patented process that combines PVA foam with two organic pigments, Methylene Blue and Gentian Violet, forming a matrix that allows the dressing to both absorb wound exudate and provide bacteriostatic protection against a wide number of of microorganisms.
