HOT HIVE hot honey is a passion project first made in our family’s ~100 year old honey plant using some extra Carolina Reapers we had lying around. When our friends and nearby restaurants couldn't get enough of our spicy honey, we knew we had to make a bigger batch. Unfortunately, the family wouldn't let us back in the honey plant. I guess the spiciest pepper in the world also creates the spiciest fumes in the world? To this day, each small batch of our hot honey is hand-bottled and taste-tested for flavor perfection. Not only does our spicy honey contain delicious honey, it also includes organic apple cider vinegar (with the mother) and select organic Carolina Reapers grown and specifically picked-out for Hot Hive by the pepper master himself, Smokin’ Ed Currie. Despite using the world’s hottest pepper, the spice level lands at a medium heat (4 out of 10).
