Horsetail is native to both North America and Europe. The other names of this plant included field horsetail, common horsetail, snake grass, puzzlegrass, candock, scouring-rush. It has been distributed all throughout the world and has been used as either an ornamental or a medicinal plant. To prepare a tea, use 1-2 tsp of Horsetail Herb for 1 cup (200 ml) of water. Pour boiling water over the herb, steep 5-15 minutes. Strain the herbs before drinking or applying topically. To make a herbal hair rinse, brew a strong herbal tea (1/2 cup horsetail to 1 cup water), steep for an hour, strain and use as a hair rinse in the shower.
