SIZE: 4 5/8" x 6 1/4" These beautiful Christmas cards feature a winter scene with a unique Asian artwork by an internationally famous artist. They shows a lone boat on the canal in the Ochanomizu district of Edo (modern Tokyo). The original woodblock print was made by the Japanese artist Utagawa Shigenobu ( 1826–1869). He was the chief pupil of Utagawa Hiroshige, the renowned master of the landscape woodblock print. The student took over his master's practice in 1858 and is today generally known as Hiroshige II. The back of the cards give history of design and says Metropolitan Museum of Art. Part of the proceeds from the sale go to the Metropolitan Museum. Inside greeting: 'Greetings of the Season'
