Hawthorn (Crataegus Laevigata) is a large shrub or small tree with an asymmetrical crown reaching a height of 3-8 m, rarely up to 12 m. The bark of the old branches is light gray; young branches are olive or reddish brown. Green leaves are glabrous, thin, paper-like at the beginning, then rather dense, 2–6 cm long and 2–5 cm wide. Flowers are 1.2–1.5 cm in diameter, white or pink. Fruits are ellipsoidal, ovoid or almost spherical with a diameter of 7-10 mm.
