Hasegawa 1/72 Scale Medium Tank M3 Grant Mk.I - Plastic Model Building Set # 31105 When the British Army first took their American-built M3 General Grant medium tanks into combat they were impressed with the new tank’s capabilities. It was more heavily armed and protected than previous Allied armor had been and they were anxious to prove its value. 167 Nazi tanks were destroyed against the loss of only eight General Grants in the first day of battle. Prior to the introduction of the Grant, the heaviest British gun was the 6lb anti-tank gun or the tank 2-pounder. The Grant carried a 75mm and a 37mm gun in addition to three or four 30cal machine guns. Aside from the shape of the turret, the Grant was identical to the General Lee of the same series. This highly detailed plastic model miniature building set accurately reproduces the famous tank. Includes two tank crew soldier figurines. Turret hatch can be assembled open or closed. One decal sheet with markings for three versions.
