Shou Sugi Ban or the Japanese yakisugi charring process preserves wood for a product that will last for decades. It is all natural, organically finished, and each piece carries a bit of history with it! It involves charring the wood, brushing it, charring it again, then using tung oil to create a penetrating waterproof barrier.
