Handmade New Zealand Koru Heart Pewter Pendant on Waxed Cord

Koru is Maori for “spiral” and refers to the spiral shape of unfolding new shoots of the New Zealand silver fern. It represents a circular movement returning towards the beginning and is symbolic of new beginnings, new life, hope, awakening and personal growth and purity. Korus are found throughout Maori art, carvings, weavings and in moko (facial tattoos). This Maori designed New Zealand pendant has been handmade in solid pewter and is strung on a traditional adjustable waxed cord.
