If ever there were a coffee that symbolized Brown, this coffee from this farm and these people would be it. Many years ago, when Brown was still a fledgling coffee company, Edwin Martinez sold us our very first sacks of coffee—a grand total of 300 pounds. I remember thinking, “How am I gonna sell all this coffee?” I quickly realized this was a misguided question, as a coffee this unique sells itself. This is the thirteenth year we have partnered with Edwin to carry this exquisite coffee; and this year we are offering none other than the namesake microlot on the farm: Vista Hermosa.   Coffee with beautiful views also has a beautiful mouthfeel, with a sweet, meaty minerality, reminiscent of the limestone soil substrate so common in this part of far northwest Guatemala. Think subtle tropical tastes of jackfruit and pineapple with a lingering salted caramel finish. Truly one of our all-time favorite coffees at Brown. Perfect for a morning cup or as a lively espresso.
