Review You might think at first glance that Grenadier is merely a setup to show main character Rushuna's considerable endowments bouncing impressively--but no. A personal favorite, this is a story full of Rushuna's warmth and desire to bring peace wherever she goes. Though she herself does not change much over the course of the story, her companion Yajiro, as an extension of us viewers, comes to understand and support her efforts unconditionally. Her heart is as pure as her aim is true. And her aim is very true indeed. Grenadier is full of amazing gun action, spectacular feats of shooting in which, amazingly, no one ever really gets hurt. It's so well choreographed, you can even count the bullets between reloads. The most incredible combat comes, of course, in the final episode, in a mesmerizing scene that begs for rewinding and slow motion. The DVDs' extras are well worth viewing, too, audio commentaries and a sort of making-of feature following the director's journey. --Moto Yaspres This show is better than 'Trigun',and at half the length. Rushana is a consummate gun-slinger, capable of not causing undue harm to opponents. Even better, her strong pacifistic streak doesn't come back to hurt her friends(unlike Vash). Set in a quasi-feudal Japan with firearms,Rushana's adventures are punctuated by lots of visits to public baths and hot springs(she loves taking baths). She's sweet,but not stupid, innocent but not naive,and someone you want in your corner. The fight and action sequences are great,and the fan service never gets in the way of the adventure. One other note: usually in anime, the 'pervy' character is unlikeab
