Four hundred years ago in Murano, Italy, a glass artisan accidentally spilled copper filings into a vat of molten glass. The copper melted and crystallized into a myriad of tiny sparkling flecks in a coppery glass solution. Goldstone is sometimes called aventurine glass, from the root word meaning accidental.
The briolette is a 12x8mm flat faceted teardrop which hangs from a matching 4mm Austrian Swarovski crystal. Earrings are 1-3/8" (35mm) long from the top of the nickle-free and lead-free gunmetal lever backs. Beads are meticulously wire-wrapped for beauty and security.
