Product Description From Ryan Murphy, the creator of "Nip/Tuck“ comes a musical comedy that follows an optimistic high school teacher as he tries to transform the Glee Club and inspire a group of outcasts to make it to Nationals. Amazon.com Glee: Season One, Vol. 2--Road to Regionals represents the final nine episodes of Glee's premiere season. These episodes began airing in April 2010, ending the musical-comedy-drama's four-month hiatus and restoring its place as the most talked-about show on television. Will (Matthew Morrison) and Emma (Jayma Mays) discover that starting a relationship isn't quite as easy as they expected, and the budding match between Rachel (Lea Michele) and Finn (Cory Monteith) also hits some snags, mostly in the person of Jesse St. James (Jonathan Groff), a defector from Vocal Adrenaline who takes an interest in Rachel. And speaking of the rival group, with sectionals over and regionals coming up, Will meets their coach, Shelby Corcoran (Idina Menzel), and then April Rhodes (Menzel's Wicked costar, Kristin Chenoweth) returns to complicate Will's life even further. Mercedes (Amber Riley) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) make an unexpected choice, Sue (Jane Lynch) meets and makes a music video with guest star Olivia Newton-John, and the club performs in the regionals in the emotion-packed finale, called "Journey" both for the music that first put them on the map and for the long road they took to get there. Music-wise, the quality remains high. "The Power of Madonna" is a complete episode showcasing the music of the Material Girl, and Lady Gaga songs are featured in a later episode, "Theatricality." Chenoweth sparkles on a duet with Morrison of "One Less Bell to Answer" and "A House Is Not a Home," and in one sensational episode directed by Joss Whedon, guest star Neil Patrick Harris sings "Dream On" with Morrison, Menzel and Michele sing "I Dreamed a Dream," and Artie (Kevin McHale) performs "Safety Dance." The season finale is an explosion of classic Journey and Queen during the competition, and tenderness afterward. While some people may only watch Glee's musical numbers, it's knowing the characters behind the songs that gives them their emotional punch, a major reason the show resonated with audiences so well during its first season. Long may it run. --David Horiuchi
