The GI JEWELRY Necklace for Men and Women is a Genuine U.S. Military Issue Orthodox Cross which makes the perfect Christian Religious Gift. IT is hypoallergenic and won’t tarnish, oxidize, or rust. THE simple, minimalist design is specially polished for a finish which is suitable for Military use. GI JEWELRY was founded in 2004 after a lifelong search by the owner to replace a lost childhood religious necklace. OUR focus was to create the same simple 100% Stainless Steel product with a very substantial feel. WITH this in mind, we began to do market research and found that the U.S. Military Chaplains, thru the Defense Logistics Agency, purchased religious necklaces to issue to Soldiers when needed. SADLY the Crosses and other pendants they bought at the time were not consistent in size or material. THEY were pewter, bronze, or silver plated and prone to corrode or turn green. IN an effort to sell our religious necklaces to the U.S. Military, prototypes were submitted to the Defense Logistics Agency’s Chaplains Division. AFTER a review period, our line was approved and subsequently assigned National Stock Numbers (Military Inventory Stock Numbers). SHORTLY thereafter, having gone thru a formal bid process, we were awarded a contract to supply the Military Chaplains with GI JEWELRY… and we’ve consistently done so for over 15 years.
