History & Mouth Feeling Alishan tea, also called Gaoshan tea, it is a high mountain oolong tea grown in the central mountains of Taiwan. It is a slow growing tea and is harvested only twice a year.  Our Taiwan Alishan tea, it has a deep and complex flavor profile, also has a floral and slightly sweet taste to it. The texture is light and a hont of honey on the tongue. This tea is great for multiple infusions and will keep its flavor long after the first steep. Several studies have shown that oolong can protect your bones and prevent osteoporosis. Those who consistently drink oolong tea are less likely to lose their bone mineral density, helping retain minerals from healthy foods consumed. It has been discovered that oolong contains magnesium and calcium in its leaves. How to brew the alishan oolong tea? Warm up the tea pot with boiling water, put about 1-2 Tsp gaoshan tea loose leaf, pour small amount of boiling water into the tea and immediately pour out. This helps to damp tea leaves, wash and help them to start steeping. After that pour 8 fl.oz of boiling water that about 85-95°C (185-205°F) and cover tea pot for 3-5 minutes, and then enjoy.
