Additional history of the triple spiral: it is an ancient Celtic symbol found across Ireland, most notably at the Neolithic "tomb" at Newgrange. It's symbolism has many interpretations, from Birth, Death and Resurrection (or Reincarnation), and the Holy Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Ghost, to the Sun's three month spiral path relating to the nine months of pregnancy. Perhaps most importantly for the pre- Christian Celts of Eire, modern pagans, and those that follow the Wiccan path, it is strongly associated with the Mother Goddess, and Her incarnation as Maiden, Mother and Crone. Many believe it is emblematic of the Irish goddess (later Saint) Brigid or Brighid, Herself associated with Healing, Smith Craft and Poetry. In modern life, it can serve to remind of us of our connection to the material realms of Earth, Sea and Sky.
