The Enchanted Box collection was created by two Polish Bohemians, Chris and Teresa. Enchanted World of Boxes was born in Cambridge in 1992 after Teresa, an artist and her husband, Chris, an anthropologist, discovered the hidden potential and distinctive elegance of wooden boxes, made in Poland for tourist and connoisseurs. Deriving inspiration from libraries of Nostradamus, Gutenberg, the Geographic Society of London, and hidden vaults from Widener Library in Cambridge- holding this book box in your hands will automatically transport your mind through time in history. This Enchanted Box has a painting by Gustav Klimt. Klimt was an Austrian Symbolist painter who became one of the founding members and president of the Vienna Secession. Where the artists were concerned with exploring the possibilities of art outside the confines of academic tradition. They hoped to create a new style that owed nothing to historical influence. After traveling to Venice and Ravenna, Klimt was influenced by their beautiful mosaics which most likely inspired his "Golden Period". His famous painting "The Kiss 1907" depicts an embracing couple whose bodies are entwined in elaborate decorations inspired both by linear constructs of the contemporary Art Nouveau style and the organic forms of the earlier Arts and Crafts movement. This Book Box is crafted by selected and trusted local craftsmen in Tatra Mountains. With its gorgeous spine and secret magnetic latch to hold it firmly closed;it will enliven any library shelve, a living room coffee table, or serve as great storage for treasures or modern accessories as they add a unique accent anywhere in your home!
