The Enchanted Box collection was created by two Polish Bohemians, Chris and Teresa. Enchanted World of Boxes was born in Cambridge in 1992 after Teresa, an artist and her husband, Chris, an anthropologist, discovered the hidden potential and distinctive elegance of wooden boxes, made in Poland for tourist and connoisseurs. Deriving inspiration from libraries of Nostradamus, Gutenberg, the Geographic Society of London, and hidden vaults from Widener Library in Cambridge- holding this book box in your hands will automatically transport your mind through time in history. This Da Vinci design features a collage of his "Vitruvian Man" alongside sketches, self portrait, and notes. The Vitruvian Man is inspired by the description of the ideal human proportions by Roman architect Vitruvius (around 85-20 BC). Da Vinci viewed the human body as a reflection of the universe. A popular unproven theory is that he saw the circle as the domain of human emotion whereas the square symbolized matter. This Book Box is crafted by selected and trusted local craftsmen in Tatra Mountains. It will enliven any library shelve with its gorgeous spines, a living room coffee table, or serve as a special treasure holder and unique accent anywhere in your home!
