Egyptian Al Doha Dry Hulled Wheat Belila Fresh Natural Grains Pearl Wheat is produced from fully-matured soft white wheat that is then passed through a pearling machine. The pearling process removes the hull (the outer layer of the grain) from the kernel, which helps to lower the cooking time of the grains and extends their shelf life. Preparation Suggestion -Belila- Belila is an Egyptian breakfast made from pearl wheat. Ingredients: 185 grams Al Doha pearl wheat 1 cup 500 mL cold water 2 cups 3 tbsp granulated sugar ~30 grams 1.5 tsp anise seed 50 grams golden raisins Handful chopped toasted almonds garnish milk to serve Method: 1- In a medium pot, combine the wheat, water, sugar, anise seed, and raisins. Bring to a boil then cover and reduce the heat so that the mixture is just simmering (like you are cooking rice). 2- Cook the wheat for about 40 minutes, til the grains are a bit chewy but tender, and the water is absorbed. Fluff with a fork. 3- Serve warm in bowls with a sprinkle of chopped toasted nuts and a splash or two of cold milk. 4- Leftovers can be reheated in the microwave. Storage instructions: Always store in dry, cool place away from sunlight and any sources of pollution and chemicals, in low temperature that doesn't exceed 20°.
