From the Manufacturer Produced by Alkett, the Ausf F first entered production in 1942 and was not only an assault gun but also a badly needed tank destroyer. Early models were mounted with long 75mm Stuk 40 L/43 and later models with L/48 guns. The Ausf F was produced until September 1942 and was then replaced by the Ausf F/8 which was armed exclusively with an L/48 gun.
