Green Sprouting Calabrese is loved for the delicate flavor of the side shoots that grow once the main head has been harvested.
The head is best cut at between 4 6 inches, and tastes great boiled whole and served with a mature cheddar cheese sauce.
Once the main head has gone the plant goes to work vigorously producing side shoots which are delectable and nutritious, and used in many dishes (including Asian).
Easy to grow and very hardy, Green Sprouting Calabrese is a prolific producer for most of the year.
