What's the difference between the blue and clear flush valve seal? Besides the difference in color, our clear seal is made of a quality rubber, which is of higher elasticity and durability. Where does the small o ring fit? It goes on the screw that holds the 2 halves together at the top of the flush valve. What's the black refill clip for? It clips to the top of the fill tube to properly direct the fill hose into the drain. How to replace the clear flush valve seal? 1. Turn off the water supply. 2. Flush the toilet to drain the water tank. 3. Remove the lid from the top of the toilet tank. 4. Find the refill tube and disconnect it. 5. Lift the flapper, loosen and remove the flush valve chain. 6. Open the flapper and remove the old seal. 7. Place the seal in the groove where the old seal was seated 8. Reinstall the flush valve assembly. (Do not overtighten the black nut. ) 9. Reattach the trip lever, chain, and refill tube. 10. Turn the water supply back on and refill the toilet tank.
