THIS IS A NUMBERED PLATE BLOCK OF 4 STAMPS AS PICTURED. ~ On August 22, 1992 in West End, NJ the USPS issued the 10th addition to the Literary Arts Series, honoring short-story writer and poet, Dorothy Parker. She was also a successful screenwriter, though her involvement in left-wing politics put her on the infamous Hollywood Blacklist. As a writer for The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, Vogue and other such venues she was best known for your caustic wit and wisecracks. Parker died in 1967 at the age of 73.
