As water is absorbed into the filter from the bottom, it slowly travels upward through the filter media, providing moisture to the air passing through. However, the top half of the filter may not receive enough moisture to stay wet as the water is being absorbed more by the lower areas of the filter. This is normal and expected in the operation of a humidifier filter. If you find that the top half of the humidifier filter has dried out, you can try to re-moisten it by adding water directly onto the top of the filter. You can do so by pouring distilled water or filling the humidifier tank and allowing the water to absorb into the top half of the filter before turning on the humidifier again.
