Also known as a "false heather," this small tropical evergreen sub-shrub is native to Mexico and Guatemala. It needs plenty of bright light, though it should be protected from direct light. Rounded and densely branched, this plant should be pruned lightly if it becomes scraggly. Look for trumpet-shaped flowers with lavender petals that hummingbirds and butterflies will love. The flowers, with their green calyx tubes, will bloom freely between summer and frost. This plant is especially well suited in the creation of a miniature garden or fairy garden.
