Our team at Crankshaft Roasters carefully selected these green coffee beans from the growing region of the Tarrazu Valley in Costa Rica. The processing method is washed and then patio dried. The beans were then brought back to our roastery where they were mindfully roasted. Just Great Coffee is our motto! Coffee has played a vital role in the economy and history of Costa Rica. Coffee production began in 1779 and makes up a large part of the agricultural exports of the country. 9 out of 10 producers are Micro Lots producing coffee on less than 12 acres. These smaller producers have gained attention and popularity due to the uniqueness of their coffee. This coffee was grown at high elevations, paired with cooler climate and volcanic soil, this coffee makes for a world class choice. The cultivation of 100% non Arabica beans is illegal, something to be said about their attention to detail and how serious they are about cultivation. The intense aroma of this coffee has a beautiful sweetness, smooth body, with notes of vanilla, cherries, dark chocolate, brown sugar, and citrus overtones. Truly an exciting cup!
