Comfrey is a medium-height, roughly hairy plant with big leaves and bell-shaped, hanging flowers of purple, sometimes pink or white colour. Comfrey is a shrub that grows in parts of Europe, Asia, and North America. The root and leaves of the comfrey plant have been used in traditional medicine in many parts of the world. Infusion: Pour half a glass of boiling water over one tablespoon of Comfrey Root and brew it. This way, a thicker version that looks similar to flax seed gel dissolved in water is created. If you prefer a lighter version, use a teaspoon instead of a tablespoon. After a while, the colour of infusion will change into dark brown. At this point, it is ready for use. Tincture: You need alcohol (40-50% ABV) and Comfrey Root. Grind the dried roots into a coarse powder. The root will absorb the alcohol and swell in the jar. Cover completely with the alcohol solution. Place in a cool, dark cupboard and shake daily. After 4 to 6 weeks your tinctures are ready to strain. Dosage is up to 5ml added to a little water up to three times a day.
